As i was watching metalhead i could not figure out the purpose of the dogs and where they came from. The smithereens ending is fittingly bleak for black mirror but especially resonant in today s culture. That being said metalhead is my favourite episode because it s a thriller a familiar genre. So i wasn t aware of black mirror s story telling style. It s a story of survival and of sheer desperation. In addition a lot of the technology from the whole show was made by the same company. Unless 15 million merits is a safe haven people live in or just a prison that powers some san junipero servers underground it s a bleak ending that is 100 man vs.

Once you start trying to guess how things are connected this episode is a bit too easy to figure out for viewers. I think the black and white drives home that its a machine world now. The reveal at the end is about the contrast between human emotion and feeling and the unfeeling unreasonable nature of the machine. I wasn t invested in the characters because it was just them trying to survive some weaponized robots for most the episode and the ending just didn t feel.

Definitely one of the worst episodes of imho. So important to them that they are willing to risk their lives for it. Metalhead s lack of context totally stripped that away.
